According to Economic Times, Mukesh Ambani has just become the richest man on the face of the Earth, with a net worth of $63.2 billion! Wow!! Of course, neither Bill Gates nor Carlos Slim Helu is too far behind, so we could see some turnovers over the coming weeks.

Five richest people in the world with their net worth
1. Mukesh Ambani ($63.2 billion)
2. Carlos Slim Helu ($62.2993 billion)
3. William (Bill) Gates ($62.29 billion)

The X Factor

One the exciting new features we released in our big release about a month ago was the Celebrity xRank, our way of tracking the day-over-day popularity of thousands of celebrities all over the world.

We count searches throughout the day for thousands of Hollywood heavyweights, radio darlings, trendsetters, athletes, politicians, and other notables. The result is a cultural snapshot of who’s hot and who’s not.

And now we have just made this feature even more awesome! If you had looked at some of the charts, like Alicia Silverstone, and wondered what exactly had happened to cause those spikes, rest your heads and let us do the hard work!

Not sure what had conspired between her and Ms. Hasselbeck back in May, but surely everyone has heard of her (in)famous PETA ad. Of course, it seems things haven’t quite gone her way since then.. Perhaps she needs to take some advice from one Britney Spears on how to stay in news week after week after week!

Not that I’ve been drowning my sorrows in Stoli’s. I completely deny that.

Spyker will become Force India for 2008 after its formal request for a name change was accepted by the FIA’s World Motor Sport Council on Wednesday.

Alas they didn’t call the team M&M Enterprises.. But it’ll be good to see India on the racetrack, even if there is no Indian there!
