Customer Cars vs. Factory Cars

At the head of the grid, Ferrari and McLaren are doing their best to make this the most exciting F1 season in my memory, and BMW are trying desperately to join the party. But further down the order, there is a different kind of battle going on.. between some of the private teams and the factory teams that are supplying engines to those private teams.

This year Ferrari is supplying engines to Spyker and STR, while Renault, Toyota and Honda are powering Red Bull, Williams and Super Aguri, respectively. There is absolutely no contest between Ferrari and their two customers, but in case of the other 3, the private teams are trying as best as they can to show that they can get the engine perform betterĀ  in their car than in the factory car.. And Williams and now Super Aguri have even had some success on that front.

Massa conquers Spain but Hamilton is the real star

It was a long wait after the last race, but it was surely worth it! Constant drama right from the start to end (okay maybe until the second round of pitstops after which I kind of dozed off..)

Massa drove really well to take his 2nd victory of the year.. He still has problems getting off the grid but seeing as how he’s getting into a habit of being on pole, those problems should go away soon. Every single race of the year has had a dramatic 1st corner and this was no different.. I think Alonso was not that much ahead of Massa to try and close the corner as he did. It seems everyone agrees it was just a racing incident, so that’s good.
